Why I Want To Be Your Next Guilford County Sheriff
- Our First Amendment Rights to free speech are being attacked.
- Our Second Amendment Rights to gun ownership are being scrutinized.
- Our schools desperately need to become more secure with a stronger Law Enforcement presence.
- The dedicated officers in the Guilford County Sheriff's Office deserve better leadership.
My Priorities as Guilford County Sheriff
First
Amendment
Rights
I am a strong supporter of your First Amendment Rights. You should feel free to speak at school board meetings regarding your child’s education without concerns of Law Enforcement involvement. You should also feel free to voice your concerns at any other official or unofficial meetings regarding whats going on in your community.
Gun Rights
Currently, under this Sheriff, it’s taking almost an entire year to receive your gun permits. The standard time is 45 days. I will prioritize your gun permit application and ensure the 45 day (or less) time limit is strictly adhered to.
School
Safety
Protecting our schools from external and internal threats are paramount. One Law Enforcement Officer per school is grossly insufficient. I plan to advocate to increase the Law Enforcement Officers at our schools to protect our children and staff. Its always better to become pro-active instead of re-active.
Improved
Morale
Due to the current leadership at the sheriff’s office, morale is at an all time low while turnover is at an all time high. The lack of officers has created increased response times, mandatory overtime, and officers being assaulted at greater frequency. This will be reversed when I become your Sheriff. It’s important that the professional men and women at the Sheriff’s office are treated with respect and work in a stable, work friendly environment.
